The 49ers Chorus is a mid-size ensemble, with approximately 30 singers. Our repertoire includes many styles of music, and we’ve performed with The Lukens Band of Coatesville for many years. Our annual Christmas show is a Chester County tradition. In the spring, we go on the road to senior living communities in and around the Chester County area.

We are a multi-generational group, ranging in age from mid-20s to the 70s, and we enjoy each other’s company both on and off the stage. Our executive board is staffed by chorus members, as well.

Our rehearsals generally begin the weekend after Labor Day in September and run through May, depending on concert dates. We rehearse every Sunday from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m.

You must prepare one piece of your voice range for the audition. You will be taken through some exercises for vocal tone and flexibility, ear, and reading ability. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the group and our expectations. Our goal is to remain a mid-size ensemble with the vocal flexibility and balanced blend to sing varied styles and genres — and to do so with a group of fun-loving, hard-working, and supportive members who take musical risks toward a meaningful concert that makes an impact on our audience and on ourselves. 

Auditions will be held in August 2022 for our fall semester, or January 2023 for our 2022-2023 season.
